Your Vegas's...debut single has two songs of a Muse-like quality, with the usual soaring piano and death-defying vocals of Matt Bellamy transposed into Jamie's own impassioned lyrics of god, girls and satellites. ‘Flybuzz' opens non-descript but blossoms into a mammoth cacophony of piano and pounding drums…the fun continues on ‘Salvadore' which is quite simply a brilliant take on Absolution- it could be called the next stage up from Muse's antics. This would easily fit into place on any radio station play list, being powerful yet generally inoffensive (you wouldn't want to go and butcher someone after hearing either of the songs). A good start, I could cope easily with Your Vegas playing stadiums within 10 years. 3.5/5 Lunatic Fringe |
