Thousand Natural Shocks - Under the Sun/Attack

Well hello. From its artwork (gas masks and fighter planes) and from its hostile title, Thousand Natural Shocks could be mistaken for a modern emo-trying-to-be-grunge band and by ignoring that age old gem 'never judge a book by its cover' it will be overlooked the world over.

Tut tut. Thousand Natural Shocks are in fact four lads from Exeter who 'like a bit of a rave'. But Klaxons they are not, instead of Casio keyboards their songs are driven by a solid, reassuring funk bassline and gasping, art rock vocals.

'Attack', the second track on this their debut single, is the more promising of the two a sides. Cue electric shock dancing. Unfortunately in 2006s fickle indie market it isn't original enough to make any real impact on peoples lives but it is a solid first offering and would fit nicely on any indie club play list.
