Mogwai - Friend Of The Night

This latest single from the Glaswegian 5 piece contains all the traits that we know and love of Mogwai; a sensitive soul whose keyboard builds and builds on top of a synthy backdrop and cymbal bashing drums, providing us with just over 4 minutes of instrumental beauty.  It's a positive glimpse into the new material from forthcoming album 'Mr Beast' (released 6th March).  'Friend Of The Night' takes us back to what music is about, to be lifted by the mounting intensity of the instruments as they form a tighter bond each second, but kept grounded by the eerie, synthesized atmosphere.  To be moved by music in todays scene is a rarity and Mogwai manage to do it yet again.
