Previous winners of Mr Eavis's coveted best unsigned band award have often gone of to grander things, most notably Muse and The Subways. Of course on occasion they do get it wrong *cough* Coldplay. This time it seems those in power down at Worthy Farm were on the money and now that the Mad Staring Eyes have reached debut EP time we're in for something a bit special.

The brilliantly titled "Debut EP" floats and soars through it's 7 tracks with such effortless perfection so as that you'd be forgiven for thinking you'd slipped into a glorious new world where Michael Eavis is PM and Mad Staring Eyes tracks are played through loud speakers in our towns and cities. Impeccable humour peppers the lyrics throughout resulting in a sultry mix of wit and sex talk that'll leave you desperate for a post coital cigarette. "Do you like to watch?" Debut EP is a big beautiful mess of samples and sounds set to make you dance, cry, laugh and sing all at once. The Mad Staring Eyes are the essential band of the moment.
