Los Campesinos! - Hold On Now Youngster (Demo)

Hold on now Youngster' as a thousand adolescent brains shrink under the burden of cherry flavoured ‘my-friend-fancies-you' text messages on last buses home in sodden clothes.

‘Hold on now Youngster' as war-torn jeans are rolled up and a thousand mischievous splashing feet make daytime city ornaments moonlit monuments to youthful abandon.

‘Hold on now Youngster' as chiming guitars race faster than the heartbeat pulsing blood to hands fumbling with their first bra, intrepid violins swoop and melodies drop like clothes on bedroom floors.

Los Campesinos! hail from Cardiff but couldn't sound as if they hailed from the valleys any less if their songs included didgeridoo interludes and polyrhythms played on deer-skin.  Happily, they don't as what we have is far preferable – a day-glow realm of boisterous disregard, brimming with adventure, spilling from the stomach lining of seven wonderful record collections, where everything ‘seems like a good idea' and there's you, there's me and there's dancing.

Oh of course - ‘You! Me! Dancing!' – a song full of so much spontaneous energy, excitement and fervour that even it's six minutes struggles to contain it's yo-yo harmonies, joyous group vocals and delightfully witty one-liners properly.

‘Hold on now Youngster?' Impossible.
