The Kooks - Looby Loo

Apparently the indie invasion is upon us! It seems that the U.K charts are no longer dominated by bland and beige manufactured pop bands that we loved to hate so much. It's more Mystery Jets and less Mariah these days, Brighton's pop-wonder boys, the Kooks, are no exception. Their ultra catchy pop anthems have been creeping further and further up the charts since the release of their debut album in January, “ Inside in/ Inside out” , and after the release of the extremely popular, “ Naïve ” in April it seems these curly haired pin-ups can do no wrong.

Looby Loo, an unrecorded track, shows the Kooks  know no boundaries when it comes to musical defining genres. With a clear Stones influence, the bluesy riff provides a strong backbone and a clear sense of direction. A high level of sophistication and diversity in their writing skills is clearly visible and the charisma of the young Luke Pritchard sets this song at the high standard we have come to expect
