Good Shoes - We Are Not The Same EP

Political and danceable are very used in the same sentence these days. Until Tony get the old band back together that is. Good shoes seem to have managed it with their latest Brille offering. We get a couple of what I will, somewhat dubiously, dub Good Shoes classics in the form of 'We Are Not The Same' and 'May Lannoye'. Both new recordings that have thankfully retained all the infectious energy and teenage yearning of the demos that got us all hot under the collar on there emergence what now seems like an age ago but the new stuff has just a little something extra. 'Things To Make And Do' sees an altogether more opinionated style emanating from the Good Shoes camp. It develops on the observational lyrics from songs like 'Morden' but this time is far more direct. The final new track 'South West Trains' is as close as Good Shoes get to being dark and it works in their trademark DIY fashion. It only lasts 2 minutes but itll be on a loop in your head for a lot longer than that!

Good Shoes they make you dance and think at the same time (hows that for multitasking)
