be your own PET – Let's Get Sandy (Big Problem)

If there's one thing to be said for Be Your Own PET, it's that they don't mess about. This song is under a minute long, and packs in more energy than your average song of three times the length, brilliantly replicating the band's live feeling. As usual, the lyrics make little sense, but that's never really been the point with BYOP, has it? It doesn't have any discernible chorus, and is a little less catchy than 'Damn Damn Leash' for instance, but it does boast a fantastic long intro followed by Jemina's speedy, fast-paced vocals, and a brilliant ending line of 'We can guarantee you that it won't be very nice', on which she comes all over all sweet, if a little mad.

This song sees Jemina going from her speedy vocals of most of their songs, to the high pitched type she puts to use in previous single 'Fire Department'.

To be honest, if you can resist 'Let's Get Sandy', you must be mad. Now get straight, do the right thing and get insanely excited about their album out in late March, OK?
