Adequate Seven - Splitting Up

I'm already a bit biased reviewing this single; I already adore the adequate seven and I tend to go a little bit nuts when I see them live. This, once again, does not disappoint. It's got all the criteria for a great song; displacement rhythms, trumpets, a hell of a catchy chorus and one very messy riff. Brilliant. It's the best formula for a break up song too; it's not depressing, it's not self loathing; it's just damn angry, and that's why I love it.

'Now we're/splitting up/ you said you'd had enough .'

The B-side is equally good and shows adequate seven at what they do best - funky bass lines and *tasteful* rapping mixed with anthemic choruses. Is anthem-ic even a word? I don't care - it should be, just for the Adequate Seven. 4/5
